Not yet finished …

There has been very little time for quilting this past week, but I did manage to get the doubled line work completed on the silk/cotton piece.  It’s now ready for the background grid and, after playing around with different widths of masking tape to show the effect,  I think  3/4in will be the most appropriate distance between the lines for this.  Also, I’m fairly certain that the double line channels will be corded.

Not much time for quilting this coming week either – off to London to indulge in the V&A quilt exhibit (and the reproduction fabrics) over the weekend and packing for the Quilts in the Garden show immediately afterwards.   Maybe I’ll put this other unfinished piece in my bag, along with the one above, to demonstrate at the show –

There’ll be at least one finished sample to display –

On a slightly different note –  some of you may already know that there’s an assortment of vintage quilts hiding in one of the bedroom cupboards (okay, it’s a walk-in cupboard)

and I thought it might be fun to look at some of them in future posts.  Here’s a couple of details of a US circa 1840 quilt I plan to share next time –
